Oregon is having a population surge with a majority of out of state buyers moving in to take advantage of the housing affordability. Of course, prices have been rising and in the last two years, Oregon has seen phenomenal growth from July of 2015 where the population grew from 2.35 million to 4.1 million in 2017. An annual report by the Associated Press highlights the numbers from Portland State University research department.
New stats out of @Portland_State show that OR gained nearly 65,000 new people last year, 88% from migration, 12% from birth increases. As the state grows, it’s so important that we reflect on our shared values as Oregonians, including balanced land use. https://t.co/OLAHaol8QT
